Samantha has known for weeks that she has a major term paper due in her English class. She waits until the weekend before the paper is due to start the assignment, because she assumes that she will have plenty of time to write it if she spends all day Saturday and Sunday on it. By Monday, she doesn't even have her rough draft done. What term would best describe Samantha's thinking?

    Answer:The planning fallacy

    Explanation:

The term planning fallacy describes our tendency to underestimate the time it will take us to finish a certain planned future task or project. Eventhough we know that when we had done the same task previously it took us a longest time to complete it.

Samantha delays doing her paper because she believes she can just do it in only two days which is Saturday and Sunday, which is a limited time to complete a paper and submit in time; planning fallacy can be blamed for this which is causing her to underestimate the time it would take her to finish the paper.
