This is a book titled ''Hamlet'' and the book was written by William Shakespeare. Gertrude is the mother of Hamlet, and the queen of Denmark. The relationship between Hamlet and his mother can be said to be somewhat turbulent. This was caused because Hamlet does not want his mother to marry Claudius after the death of his father.

Polonius is the father to Laertes and Ophelia. Polonius is also the chief counsellor of the king. Hamlet does not like Polonius at all because of Polonius relationship with Claudius.

Hamlet later killed Polonius in act 3, scene 4 of the book 'Hamlet'.
