The encoding specificity principle is the principle that is related to human memory. This principle states that the human memory can be strongly retrieved when the external conditions like emotional cues at the time of retrieval are similar to those memories that are in existence. For example, a happier memory can be easily retrieved during the happy condition and the sad feeling can be easily retrieved when a person is in a sad condition.
