The period of Pax Romana began. The Edict of Milan was issued to allow Romans to adopt Christianity. Julius Caesar became dictator of Rome. The Romans removed the last Roman king from power and set up a republic.

    Answer: Pax Romana was the period immediately after the end of the Roman republic

    Explanation: Pax Romana was a period of peace in the Roman empire which lasted from 27BC till 180AD. It literally translates to Roman peace.

    It started when Augustus Caesar became the Emperor and ended with the death of Marcus Aurelius who was called the last of the good Emperors.

    Two distinctive things worthy of note in this period:

    1. Period of peace didn't mean there were no wars but they were greatly reduced compared to the periods before

    2. There were lots of trade which promoted stability and prosperity of the empire.
