Jones contracts to buy a computer from Martin for $1,500. The contract calls for Martin to service the computer quarterly for the first year and to tutor Jones on how to use the software. There is a dispute. How would you decide if the contract is governed by common law or the UCC?

    Explanation:

    The article 2 governs the contracts which are related to the sales of goods only. But in this contract, since there is involvement of both goods and services, it will be covered by UCC rather than the common law.

    Even though Jones is buying a good from Martin which is the computer, he is also taking a service from Martin for use of software that Martin is willing to provide to Jones.
