Throughout the nineteenth century many regions of the world reached levels of technological advance never before experienced by human societies. Although such development has not been equitable in all nations, we can say that the planet as a whole has been hit by this process. In other words, we find that the progress made possible by the Industrial Revolution has reached, to a greater or lesser extent, almost all men. Although the western working class present in the nineteenth century had poor quality of life and wages, this class had much higher wages than the eastern working class, which caused many easterners to migrate to the west looking for a better quality of life, the result of which was that in the nineteenth century the western working class became much more multiracial than the eastern working class.
