Burr responded by challenging his antagonist to a duel, an invitation Hamilton felt compelled to accept.

    Explanation:

The Burr-Hamilton duel was the duel fight fought at New Jersey, between Aaron Burr, Vice President and Alexander Hamilton, Treasury Secretary. Burr straight forwardly challenged his opponent Hamilton who had no option but to accept it. In the fight, Hamilton was shot by Burr while Hamilton missed his shot and hit into the tree branch above Burr's head. Hamilton was taken to William Bayard Jr's home where he died.
