According to Section 402 of the Americans with Disabilities Act, if the Federal Government's agency produces a television public service announcement, it should include verbal caption or texts of the spoken part should be shown. This will enable disabled people to know important public announcement on the television. However, if the announcement is not related to the Federal Government, the television station licensee is not required to provide the captions. On the contrary, if they intentionally omit the captions for important announcements, then they will be held liable for that action.
