In this strategy, an individual loses something relevant to him, as a punishment for the existence of an unwanted behavior. The goal is that the loss of that relevant "something" causes the individual to lose that behavior.

For example: a teenager loses the freedom to go to parties on weekends as a punishment for cheating on the test. As this teenager no longer wants to lose the privilege of going to parties he will no longer stick to tests.
