That Boo Radley was not as bad as they thought to be.

When Boo Radley saves Scout and and carries her brother, Jem back to the house, they come to realize that Boo was not as bad as they thought to be. She realizes that she was wrong in her judgement and that Boo Radley was, in fact, a good person. These lessons differ from what she will learn in school because it is a real incident where one realizes that one shouldn't judge a person by its cover. One should never judge a person before understanding and knowing that person properly.
