Amendment is the official transformation made to the constitution. There are twenty seven amendments that are ratified in the US Constitution till today.

An amendment is the change that is prescribed to the unique law. In order for an amendment to become a law, it needs two thirds endorsement of both the houses in congress. It's then sent to the each state legislature which in turn has to contribute three fourths vote. After which the amendment becomes a law.

Amendment can be in the form of any adaptation, alteration, addition or deducting any segment from the constitution.
