How did early twentieth-century anthropology differ from the anthropology practiced in nineteenth-century Europe?

    Anthropologists and sociologists of the nineteenth century were particularly interested in today's modern cultures as they developed.

    However anthropologists of the twentieth century were mostly interested well into the mechanisms and processes by which communities transformed.
