The effect of the love of Romeo and Juliet on the relationship from parent to child is a result of feuding between two noble families in Verona/Italy. Romeo was born into the Montague household, who were the more controlled, quieter family. they did not enjoy the fights therefore tried to avoid the feuds. They were not one to start a fight calculatingly unlike their opposing enemies, the Capulets, who they loathed more than death itself. whenever a potential fight was building up, the Capulets could not resist the urge.

The two sets of parents loved their children, for instance, Romeo's parents expressed concern for his depression at the beginning of the play and were heartbroken upon learning of Romeo's banishment. Juliet's relationship with her father, was developed a bit more, while they cared for her, their relationship with her degraded throughout the play as they insisted she marry Paris. The two parents were devastated when they learnt their children died.
