Describe the difference between plurality and majority and which elections require which one to win (think primary vs general election) :

    In plurality election system, the person with the most percentage of votes out of all contesting candidates wins. While in the majority voting system, the candidate should receive more than half of the votes.

    Explanation:

    For example,

    Three people A, B & C are contesting in a plurality based system, and receive 10%, 35% and 45% respectively.

    Person C will win as he/she has received most votes.

    However, in the same case in majority based system, no one will be called a winner.
