What was the purpose of the Giordano, Longmore, and Manning (2006) article? In other words, why did the authors do the research? What were their research questions?

    Answer: The purpose of the research was to examine the experience of adolescent boys and girls in the context of their romantic dyad.

    They research question was if girls actually has more feelings for romance than boys during adolescent age.

    Explanation:

    Many studies of the adolescent period of girls and boys has focused on relationship and interactions between peers, but we don't know much about the character of adolescent early dating experience. Many researches has more of girls view of Romance and sex on their article, while studies of boys view are noticeably lacking. This is why the authors has gone into research to bring up findings about boys level of romantic engagement and level of sex during adolescent age.

    The article was to identify the meaning of adolescent romantic relationship, which focuses on the nature of communication, emotion, and influence within adolescent dating relationship. From the article over 1,300 adolescent was interviewed, research showed that 957 has begun dating.

    Boys reports shows that, their tend to have more level of engagement to their romantic partner, which is similar to that of girls at their adolescent age.

    The research has lead to the understanding that girls really have more power in adolescent romantic relationship than boys.
