What did the Spanish bring that changed life for many Native American tribes

The Spanish conquistadores brought many new diseases with them, for which the native Indian peoples did not have antibodies. One good example is smallpox. Millions of Indians died because of the new diseases imported with the arrival of the Spanish in the New World.
