There are many similarities between the roman republic and America. Even though the Romans are not supposed to consult when making decisions and women were barred from participating in political matters, the American government shares some similarities with the Romans.

Both states set check balances, and in both countries, an executive head can be terminated from office by legislator's decision. The roman republic and America government have the military headed by the head executive. Rome continued to own slaves when the US stopped.
