    The main aim is to analyse and assess whether there is a direct link between sleep deprivation and driving ability.

    With experimental research, the researcher has the ability to control and manipulate the independent variable which in this case is sleep deprivation.

    In addition, other variables that may be considered to be extras can be controlled as the researcher desires.

    The effect hence ability to drive can be tested under different conditions which may shed the light into the how the two variables relate.

    For instance, the researcher may decide to test the driver's ability if they had 2, 5, 8 hours of sleep.

    Or even add another variable alcohol or some medication.
