    Explanation:

    The Pre-production Stage: This is a stage when someone hasn't started to actively use the words that they have learnt however at this stage the have receptive vocabulary. They understand the meaning of these words but haven't gained enough confidence to actual try using these words in their sentences or when making conversation. They may imitate every word that is being said without real taking into consideration what it means. They are active listeners at this stage and copies every English word but haven't really been able to use these words. They are not producing the langauge yet but just receiving it.
