The German sociologist Max Weber is one of the main theorists of sociology and occupies, along with Emile Durkheim and Karl Marx, one of the bases of the so-called triad of classical sociology. Weber founded a method of sociological study based on what he called social action and produced useful studies for understanding the formation of capitalism. Weber's most widespread book is Protestant ethics and the spirit of capitalism, in which he analyzes the proximity of the formation of capitalism to the spread of Protestantism.
