    In the family of the Smolinskis, was the father, Reb Smolinski, Sara Smolinski, her mother and three sisters who were Jews that migrated and lived in New York, United States. During the early 1900, over 15 million people migrated to the United States, mostly from Eastern Europe and 75 percent of the people living in New York at that time were either immigrants or those born by them.

    Most of the new comers who arrived do not have English Language as their primary means of communication and they had difficulty adjusting to life. The older and younger generations often disagreed over lifestyle.
