    But underneath all those processes what is most important is reciprocity and the fact that by sharing food, the giver ensures that the other side will return the favor eventually, especially in the time of need.

    The person who shared doesn't have to be consciously aware of that and to share just for the benefit, but this reciprocity subliminal benefit of every food sharing.
