In the 18th century, the Agricultural Revolution was the main factor behind the Britain's Industrial Revolution. As enhanced methods for livestock breeding and new farming techniques were employed, the production of food was amplified. Increase food production therefore led to an increase in health conditions and the population at large.

On the other hand, the industrial revolution occurred around the world and was known for new manufacturing processes from 1760 to 1840. This revolution led to increased mechanization which was possible because of the new tools available and revolutionized production. The unparalleled production levels in commercial agriculture strengthened the economy of America and its dependence of imported goods.
