    The Freedom Charter was adopted at the Congress of the People on June 26, 1955. The purpose of this Charter was to demand equality among the citizens of South Africa.

    African National Congress, Congress of Democrats, the South African Congress of Trade Unions, Colored People's Congress and South African Indian Congress came together and formed an alliance known as Congress Alliance. This alliance proposed the rights of equality, equal working hours were proposed, the rights to share the land, etc.

    So, we can conclude that the purpose of creating this document of The Freedom Charter, 1955 was equality for all citizens of South Africa.
