I oppose Quebec trying to make itself independent. Currently Alberta (where I live) is raising H! ll about leaving the rest of Canada. Those who want to leave have a pretty solid case, but I still don't think it is wise. The threat is a good one, but an actual occurrence would be a disaster.
Very few Canadians realize that Quebec could survive on it's own, but it would be a Brexit kind of mess. Quebec is a wonderful mining jurisdiction - - perhaps the best in the world, but Quebec and Canada are too intertwined for either to escape without being hurt. The same goes for Alberta. Again, watch Brexit
