Where in the Constitution does it grant Congress the power to tax?

    Congress has authority over financial and budgetary matters. The enumerated power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts. The Sixteenth Amendment, ratified in 1913 says they have the extended power of taxation to include income taxes.

    In the Constitution, I have at home it talks about giving congress the power to tax in Article 1, section 8
