The Ottoman Empire extended its influence over most of the Muslim world and Eastern Europe and turned its attention towards Central Europe. What stopped the advance of the Ottoman Empire into Europe in 1529?

    The advances of the Ottoman Empire were stopped with the siege of Vienna, where the Ottoman army was defeated and the European forces victorious. This lead the Ottoman forces to retreat back to where they came from as they were unable to sustain a prolonged assault on Europe.
