Social class is defined as the grouping together of individuals layered hierarchy primarily based on income, education, occupation and social network. One's social class can impact for example an individual's health, family, religion, and experience with the criminal justice. In the U. S. there is considered to be three social classes. The upper class, the middle class and the poor or working class. These classes can effect societal roles. For example individual's in the upper class are likely to be more influential in politics then those from the middle or working class. It is generally thought that the higher up in the hierarchy you are in America the better health, professional and educational advantages you will have.
