The solution for most of the criminal cases is a plea bargain, this consist in the defendant pleading guilty and usually to a lesser charge instead of going to trail, in exchange of a lenient sentence. The decision of taking a plea bargain can be because of the seriousness of the crime, how good the evidence are and the prospects of a guilty verdict at trial. This kind of solution is encouraged by the justice systemin because the agenda of courts trials are full as well as the jails.
