What does venue shopping mean?

The term venue shopping is an informal term in the field of private international law. It is about the possibility offered to a plaintiff (and more exceptionally to the defendant) the diversity of international rules and competences to avail themselves of the jurisdiction or courts of countries that can issue a ruling more favorable to their interests. It often involves a judicial mockery, mainly for the so-called libel tourism.
