    As I posted elsewhere: The classic example of this is the development in thinking from Plessy v. Ferguson in the late 1890s to Brown v. Board of Education.

    In Plessy, the Supreme Court ruled that facilities could be segregated if they were "separate but equal."

    In Brown v. Board, the Supreme Court ruled that separate but equal is not legal.
