How did these two views of slavery differ?

In the north, slavery wasn't needed there since they were more industrial and didn't have the right climate for crops. They also thought it was wrong, but in the south, people had crops like indigo, tobacco and cotton. They made a fortune off of the slaves and thought it was right.
