The main difference between debates in the Senate and in the House of Representatives is the time they take to debate, with the consequent effect on the pace of debate and its ideological depth.

This is so because the senators last 6 years in their positions, while the representatives only last 2, with which they have much less time to prepare the bills and debate them than the senators have available.

For this reason, the style of the debates in the House tends to be more accelerated, less ideological and often without certain formalities that necessarily prevail in the debates of the Senate.
