During the 1600's, indentured servants were mostly the workers that occupied or worked in the Virginia tobacco plantations because they signed an indenture or a contract that assigns them to work for a certain amount of years in exchange of moving to Virginia, and when they get there, other essentials such as food and shelter are given to them.
