    It is hard to determine about the Romans actually used as punishments because they gives a variety of punishments to the prisoners.

    Explanation:

    The different types of punishments among the Romans were fines, bonds, stripes, retaliation, infamy, banishment, slavery, and death. The worst punishment given by romans was Crucifixion. Crucifixion refers to the nailing of the prisoner's body on the cross which leads to the death of the prisoner. A person was found guilty of treason, he could be sentenced to death.
