    Explanation:

    Mass marketing is a market strategy where a product is produced and advertised in order to appeal to the largest group of potential customers possible.

    This strategy focuses on selling high volumes of products at low prices. It is often accompanied by huge advertising campaigns.

    The disadvantage of mass marketing is its total ignorance of social, demographic and cultural differences of its target customers. The 'one size fits all' approach may backfire and contribute to a money loss. Segmentation on the other hand, is more location bound and may yield better return on investments, it does not need to depend on so much previous advertising either.
