How did Machiavelli think leaders should gain, consolidate, and maintain their power? Do you view leadership in the same way Machiavelli did in The Prince? Why or why not?

    He believed a princes job was to serve his land as it was their generational fate and nothing skills hinder their progress, whether liked or not. I don't agree with this because to an extent your nation should want to support you and if they don't that could lead to revolt and cost many lives even involving other nations.
