    Explanation:

    Santiago, the young Shepard Boy that started taking care of sheep at a very young age, encouraged by his father despite his age because he will be making money for him. He moves from place to place, never desiring to stay at a place for more than a day until he met the Merchant and his Daughter. The first time he spoke to the merchant's daughter he had a strange feeling and need.

    The feelings and need was the desire to live in one place not for a day or two but forever. This feeling conflict with the reason because he finally meet a merchant and asked the boy to shear four sheep's. He paid for the wool and asked the shepherd to come back the following year, but Santiago want to remain in that place forever because of the merchant's daughter.
