to share resources and make economic trade easier between coal and steel companies

    Explanation:

The initial purpose of the European Union was to unify the countries of Western Europe in order to have free trade between them, sharing of the resources such as the coal and steel, and support in each other in order to progress economically. Since its formation though, the European Union has changed gradually, so it started to include more and more country members from all p-art of the continent. Also, apart from the economic purpose, it added a political dimension to it, becoming more and more powerful as a political force, and even being higher authority than the governments of the country members themselves.
