The October Revolution was the follow-up to the February Revolution, which deposed Tsar Nicolas II and the Romanov Monarchy in Russia.
Taking place in St. Petersburg, it allowed the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin to take charge.
The end result was a turnover of power from the Duma to the people of the Soviet republic and a ratification of the Russian Revolution.
