One good example is the culture in the Arab world that expects women not to drive and always cover themselves. In this case, the man or husband would consciously or subconsciously consider himself superior in regards to all the things he is able to do and she is not. In western and other cultures, such laws are leveraged to favor the woman more in regard to relationships.
