People caught trying to leave were killed or put in prison.

Life was very easy.

    People were "allowed" to follow any religion they wanted but atheism was enourcaged. People were deported simply for their beliefs, and there were several purges of priests. In 1915, Russia had 54,000 churches. In 1940, there were 500.

    Workers didnt have set pay they were paid by the amount they produced rather than the quality of what they produced this was called 'progressive piecework'
