PAC stand for Political Action Committee. It is a committee which purpose is to collect money from special interest groups and use the money to support the electoral campaign of their candidate.

People with similar views on an issue form an interest group that later becomes a PAC. Every member of this interest group donates a specific amount of money for the electoral campaign of the candidate they support. This way they can collect a large amount of money easily. They support a candidate that in turn supports their issues. This way, the PAC hopes to get some influence on the issues they are concerned about once their candidate is elected and in office.
