Women smile more in social situations than a man will. This is because women are more prone to smile back at someone than a man will. It does not necessarily mean that the women are more happy or amused when smiling. Men tend to not return smiles in the same situations. There was a study done of 150 men and 150 women, and the women returned the smiles 93% of the time. Men, only returned the smiles 67% of the time to other women, and even less to other men at 58% of the time.
