The list of criteria is very thorough regarding time of residence in the US, the type of knowledge required and the legal conditions to become an US citizen.

However, other criteria should be taking into account to diversify and also to ensure US attracts the best talents, for instance:

Athletes, scientists and other high skilled people should be able to receive citizenship without having to have lived in the US for a given period of time, that would ensure we can attract and retain even more talents.

Also, soldiers from countries that fought alongside US in the past 50 years should also have their citizenship process streamlined as a reward for their contributions.
