The Navigation Act was a series of English laws to regulate English ships. This act dealt with shipping, trade, and commerce between England's colonies and other countries. This act also included laws that regulated England's fisheries and restricted foreigners' participation in its colonial trade. This act was also known more broadly as the Acts of Trade and Navigation.
