Dutch, French and British colonization occurred during the 1600's and while at the Netherlands people had good political and economic conditions plus religious freedom, in America those things were barely arising. Hence, people were hesitant about leaving their homeland for something entirely new, where the new settlers were mainly depending on fur trade to thrive whereas the British colonies in America offered the aforementioned mod cons and some others like land ownership.
