Which is generally true of the lower house in a state legislative branch?

The lower house (House of Representatives) has more members than the Senate.

As examples, I'll cite some states I've lived in:

Minnesota's state legislature has 134 representatives in the House of Representatives, 67 senators in the state Senate. Texas' state legislature has 150 representatives in the House, 31 senators in the state Senate. Oklahoma's state legislature has 101 representatives in the House, 48 senators in the state Senate.

The same pattern holds true on the national level. The United States Congress has 435 representatives in the House of Representatives, 50 senators in the Senate.
