African traditional society learned religion and language from the European slave traders.

The Benin society in Nigeria had her treasured cultural heritage and artifacts stolen by colonial masters.

    Explanation:

European slave traders came into Africa after the Berlin Conference when countries in Africa was shared among European superpowers.

The European colonists came into Africa and after conquering, they faced language barriers so they selected some young men from each village and trained them in their language, these young men acted as interpreters and later on became teachers to others.

They also brought religion. The Europeans brought Christianity to some parts of Africa and outlawed the African Traditional Religion the people believed in for generations.

The effect of slave traders in Benin State in Nigeria culminated in Europeans stealing vast amounts of Nok Terra Cotta, Igbo Ukwu masks and various other cultural artifacts and took them back to Europe.
