    In the USA, the laws of military courts are set forth in the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which is the foundation of the military legal system.

    The courts-martial are separate from civilian criminal laws.

    There are three types of courts-martial: general (the most serious one), special (a middle one) and summary (the least serious one).
